The event marked a significant step in strengthening the operational capabilities of the Indonesian peacekeeping contingent under MONUSCO.
The Armour Ural Cargo is a modified version of the standard Ural Cargo Truck, which has been transformed into an armoured logistic vehicle. The initiative was pioneered and developed by Major Inf M Deri Saputra, Commander of the Support Company of Indo RDB 39-F Monusco. His leadership and team’s innovation turned a conventional truck into a combat-ready asset.
The modification process included the addition of protective armoured plating, reinforced vehicle structure, and adaptations designed to meet the operational needs in conflict-prone environments. These enhancements allow the vehicle to provide much better protection for both personnel and logistical supplies during troop movements.
Colonel Imir Faishal highlighted that the innovation reflects the adaptability and creativity of Indonesian soldiers serving in MONUSCO. “This Armour Ural Cargo is not only a product of ingenuity but also a demonstration of our soldiers’ commitment to improving safety and mission effectiveness,” he stated.

According to Major Deri Saputra, the development of the vehicle was driven by the real needs observed in the field. “We wanted to ensure that our logistic convoys could operate with greater confidence and security, especially when moving through vulnerable routes,” he explained.

Armour Ural Cargo merupakan hasil modifikasi dari kendaraan Ural Cargo Truck standar yang diubah menjadi kendaraan logistik lapis baja. Inisiatif ini dipelopori dan dikembangkan oleh Mayor Inf M Deri Saputra, selaku Komandan Kompi Bantuan INDO RDB 39-F Monusco. Di bawah kepemimpinannya, tim berhasil mengubah truk konvensional menjadi aset siap tempur.
Proses modifikasi meliputi penambahan lapisan baja pelindung, penguatan struktur kendaraan, serta penyesuaian lain yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan operasi di wilayah rawan konflik.
